Passive mode is suitable for small-sized panels because its instantaneous brightness is proportional to the number of cathode scanning columns, so it needs to be operated under high pulse current, which will shorten the lifespan of pixels. Compared to the crystal layer of LED or LCD, the organic plastic layer of OLED is thinner, lighter, and more flexible. The luminescent layer of OLED is relatively light, so its substrate can use flexible materials instead of rigid materials. OLED substrate is made of plastic material, while LED and LCD use glass substrate. LED and LCD require glass as a support, and glass will absorb some of the light. OLED does not require the use of glass.
